Thankful for the Worn-Out Word

Soon after I gave my life to Christ, my pastor gave me my first copy of God’s Word, a P.C. Nelson Bible.

I very quickly wore that Bible out over the years, underlining and highlighting verses and writing in the margins. Eventually, it got so worn and fragile that I replaced it. Later, I had the privilege of gifting various Bibles to my children, grandchildren, and friends.

The Word of God is well-worn in our family! Perhaps there’s a Bible like that in your home? A copy of God’s Word that has served and blessed you for decades.

A French-speaking pastor in West Africa receives a FireBible, the number one study Bible in the world. Light for the Lost funds made it possible for more than 5,000 copies of these Bible to be distributed to pastors and new believers from the first print run.

Unfortunately, many thousands of people throughout the world have never owned even ONE Bible. This month of October, as we continue the We Still Believe fundraising campaign to end the year, we want to answer missionary requests for Bibles and scripture portions.

If funded, these requests will provide God’s Word to soul winners, and also for people who have never studied or even owned a Bible. In fact, many of the Bibles we give will one day be the worn-out Word in a place of honor in someone’s home.
